Frequently asked questions from our bike fitting clients
1. What do I bring to my fitting appointment?
Please bring the following equipment with you along with anything you have questions about.
- Bicycle
- Shoes
- Socks – preferably plain white or black
- Cycling or lycra shorts – preferably solid black
- Jersey or snug fitting top
- Helmet
- Gloves (if normally worn)
2. Why do you suggest wearing black shorts and solid color socks for fittings?
To get the highest possible contrast between the color of your clothes and the tracing dots we will use to measure your body position. Dark colors and the absence of patterns make the tracking much more accurate. For socks, plain black or white are best.
3. Why are the tight shorts and top necessary?
We simply need to be able to study the movement of your body by measuring as you ride. The snug clothes make it possible to keep our measuring point in a fixed position and on the right spot, such as the point of your hip, for instance.
4. You suggest a towel for showering. Will I get that sweaty?
You will be on the bike for a while during your fit and you could get sweaty. It is best to do the fitting when you are warmed up and working a bit. We study your fit as you ride so you can expect to do a fair amount of pedaling. We offer the shower for your convenience.
